Sellaite - Fluorite from Fontsante (France)

Stefano Buzzoni

This is an old Sellaite (with minor Fluorite) specimen coming from the BRGM (Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières) in Paris (site: www.brgm.fr/fr).

Both minerals are present in "massive form".

The best fluorescence is in Lw but it fluoresces in Mw and Sw too.

Sellaite is yellow-lemon and fluorite is a weak blue-gray.

Dimensions and weight: 5.5 x 5.5 x 3 cm; 125g

Origin: Fontsante Mine, Tanneron, Draguignan, Var (France).
