Grossular - Sierra de Cruces, Coahuila, Mexico

Pink grossular dodecahedrons and yellow non-fluorescent vesuvianite in a matrix of quartz and calcite, from the famous deposit in Sierra de Cruces. The garnets are dim fluorescent red in long wave and mid wave, likely from Cr3+ impurities. Also included are macro closeups.

Lit by a pair of 365nm flashlights. Specimen is 85 x 75 x 40mm.
