Wollastonite is a fairly common and widespread mineral. That said, minerals from each locale seem to have their unique differences and qualities. Here's one from Drum Valley in Tulare County, California, nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Though the matrix appears to be wollastonite, several other minerals appear to be present, most notably fluorapatite. The fluorapatite appears to be blue in natural, and pink in shortwave. The bright blue in LW is still to be determined, as are some of the other more subtly colored minerals. Interesting piece.
