Gypsum, var. Selenite, Manitoba, Canada

FireViper

Selenite from the Red River Spillway (Floodway) in Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada should be on everyone's list to add to their collection. Beautiful in natural light, it is also very bright in Longwave and reasonable in Midwave and Shortwave, also quite phosphorescent. Some folks call the crystals "duckbill", as they are oftened twinned. Some specimens often have very large crystals extending from the center ball, and are very sought after.
