Turkey Fat Smithsonite, Rush Historic District, Arkansas

FireViper

Simply, one of the best mineral names in fluorescent rocks. Turkey Fat Smithsonite, from the Rush Historic District, Marion County, Arkansas. Very nice fluorescence in Longwave, though not much in SW or MW. The material is from an old zinc mining area deep in the Ozarks with several mines having producing specimens. This one is fairly small, at about two inches by an inch and a half.
