Honey colored, octahedral scheelite crystals on a light matrix, from the Oriiz mine, Golden, Santa Fe County, New Mexico. Under short wave UV the scheelite fluoresces intense blue/white. The scheelite is also fluorescent under mid wave UV, showing a more yellow/white response. The largest scheelite crystals measure to 7 mm. The size of the entire specimen is 62.3 x 43.2 x 31.9 mm, and it weighs 84 grams.
Scheelite octahedron, approximately 7mm across, shown under short wave UV (254nm).
